Bayley & The Sisterhood

This post was inspired by Why Girls Are Weird who opened up her Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award for any and all bloggers to do-- thanks Krysten!

here

1.  What is your favorite movie and why?

This is hard because like with music I have always had a really eclectic taste of movies. I love old favorites, new favorites, action favorites, romantic favorites, etc., so I'll be nice and list a couple for you, you're welcome. My oldest favorite is Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart (swoon), I just love everything about Audrey, I try to emulate her whenever I can. I will always go to the Lord of the Rings trilogies as my number one fantasy series, I've loved them since I was a kid. Action movies...hmmmm...Iron Man, and The Avengers. Don't worry Robert Downey Jr, we'll be together soon. As far as romantic movies, I like things like Pride and Prejudice and The Duchess. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, Maleficent is my new obsession, and is definitely worth renting, it is beautifully done and even if you don't like Angelina, it is so well done you won't care.

2.  Looking back on your life, what are you most proud of?

I don't know if I would say that I am most proud of anything in particular. Everything I've done or seen in life good and bad has made me the person I am today and I'm pretty cool so I wouldn't change a thing.

3. Are you doing what you love? If not, what would you rather be doing?

Currently, I'm just trying to make ends meet so no, I'm not doing what I love. I am really looking forward to being out of school so I can start teaching myself! I've spent so long trying to figure out what I want to do, now that I know, I can't wait to get started.

4. Describe your perfect Saturday.

My perfect Saturday starts with sleeping in until about ten, and then heading outside with my book, a cup of coffee, a croissant and a cup of coffee to read the morning away (since it's my perfect Saturday it's a balmy 74* and sunny). In the afternoon, Bobby and I could head downtown to check out a new restaurant and maybe walk our dog around the park, then come home to grill out on our back porch with a bottle of wine for me and a couple brews for him.

5. Take this quiz and find out which one you are.  Does it match what you thought?

I got 'Quality Time', which is funny because I'm pretty sure I took this same quiz a couple of months ago and got a different answer. I think it's fitting though because since Bobby has started his full time job and I got my second job, quality time has become something few and far between but just as meaningful - if not more. The time we do have to just sit, talk, (and eat), is something I look forward to all day.

6. What are your first and middle names, and what is the story behind them?

Well, my first name, Bayley, has a couple different stories behind it.  My mom was watching WKRP in Cincinnati one late night while she was pregnant, and one of the characters names was Bailey, and she liked it.  She's from San Francisco, so they changed the BAI to BAY for San Francisco Bay.  My Nina (Mom's Mom) would also appreciate me mentioning that the first American Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton's maiden name was Bayley.  My middle name is Merrill, after my Poppy's (Mom's Dad's) mother's maiden name.

7. What would you like your next vacation to be?

I miss the ocean, but we've been talking about renting a cabin somewhere for the weekend with our friends and going to an amusement park; Something we could do in a weekend that would just let us decompress and "be kids again" has become very appealing to the both of us.

8.  When you hear the word "happy" what is the first thing that comes to your mind?

Happy is remembering that as much as I have to worry about, at the end of the day I have more than most, and I have all the love and support that I could ever need.

In the same spirit as Why Girls are Weird,  I'm passing this award on to any bloggers who want to answer the questions-- leave a link to your posts in the comments, and enjoy!

  1. Your perfect Saturday sounds perfect to me too! Working life is hard - I understand why you are craving free time. My little boy is worried that school (after high school) will be hard. I told him that's the time to enjoy, because working every day is probably the hardest thing. But then it makes those moments on the deck/patio all the sweeter!
